NTA Issues an Important Advisory for Students For JEE Main 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory for candidates preparing to appear for JEE Main 2026. The examination will be held in two sessions, with the first scheduled for January 2026 and the second in April 2026. According to the notification, the online application form for the first session will be available from October 2025 on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students have been urged to take note of this timeline and ensure that their required documents are updated well before registration begins.
In the advisory, the NTA emphasized the need for candidates to carefully review their documents to avoid errors or mismatches that could affect their application. Candidates must verify that the details on their Aadhaar card, such as name, date of birth, photograph, father’s name, and address, match those on their Class 10 certificate. For students applying under the Persons with Disabilities category, the UDID card must be valid and renewed where necessary. Similarly, candidates belonging to the EWS, SC, ST, or OBC-NCL categories are required to possess updated and valid category certificates at the time of registration.
The NTA has made it clear that mistakes in these documents may lead to rejection of the application or complications later in the admission process. To prevent last-minute stress and technical issues, aspirants are advised to update and verify their details well ahead of time. The advisory highlights the importance of being proactive and organized during the preparation phase.
JEE Main is the gateway to admission in NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutes, while also serving as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which opens the door to the prestigious IITs. With competition for these institutes growing tougher each year, staying attentive to official notifications and requirements is essential for every serious aspirant.
