Jamia Millia Islamia Opens Admissions for 2026–27, Introduces 30 New Academic Programmes

Jamia Millia Islamia has announced the commencement of admissions for the 2026–27 academic session with the release of its official prospectus. The prospectus contains detailed information regarding eligibility conditions, application procedures, entrance examinations, admit cards, prescribed syllabi, examination centres, fee structures, and tentative result schedules for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, advanced diploma, PG diploma and certificate programmes. The online application window is now open for interested candidates.

For the upcoming academic session, the university has introduced 30 new programmes while keeping the fee structure unchanged across courses. From this year, admissions under the Multiple Entry Mode in the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) will also begin. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this system allows students greater flexibility in their academic progression by enabling structured entry and exit options within the four-year framework.

At the postgraduate level, in accordance with NEP 2020, new programmes include MSc in Biosciences, MSc in Biotechnology, MSc in Botany, MSc in Biophysics, MA in Social Work, MA in Human Resource Management, and MA in Sociology. Under the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), BSc BEd (Secondary) and BA BEd (Secondary) have also been introduced.

In addition, several professional and specialised courses have been launched. These include MSc in Renewable Energy (Self-Financed), BTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (Self-Financed), BTech in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Construction Technology (Self-Financed), evening BE programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (Self-Financed), Diploma in Leather Goods and Footwear Technology (Self-Financed), LLM in Criminal Law, Corporate Law and Personal Law in both regular and self-financed modes, PG Diploma in Computational Design and AI in Architecture (Self-Financed), Master of Hotel Management (Self-Financed), BVoc in Molecular Diagnostics (Self-Financed), certificate courses in Calligraphy Painting and Painting (Self-Financed), and MTech in Material Science and Technology.

To make the admission process more accessible, the university has expanded its network of entrance examination centres across the country. Three new centres—Jaipur, Dehradun and Kishanganj—have been added, increasing the total number of test centres to eleven. Existing centres include Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati and Patna, among others. Candidates are advised to carefully review the prospectus and complete their applications within the stipulated timeline.
